Who we are

Our specialist training programmes are delivered by a team of highly qualified assessors and internal quality assurers, who support and guide learners throughout their qualification. The team are Jo Corbett, Andy Oliver, Carrie Normoyle, Mandy Green, Sheila Patel, and Rachel Lucas. The team have a wealth of experience in the Career Guidance sector as career advisors, external quality assurers, and working in Further Education, and Higher Education.ÌýÌý

The qualifications can be delivered face to face, or via online platforms. We use a range of assessment methods with the qualifications which include assignments, professional discussions, observations, case studies, witness testimonies, and research tasks.Ìý

Quality is at the forefront of what we do as an assessment centre and we are accredited by the awarding bodies, OCR, City and Guilds, and Gateway Qualifications. Learners have a dedicated assessor who will meet with them regularly to plan assessments and to provide feedback.Ìý

We offer the following professional qualifications:

L3 Certificate in Advice and Guidance/Level 4 Diploma in Advice and Guidance

This training is ideal for anyone working in employability, education and training, housing and specific advice and guidance roles. We are an approved City & Guilds assessment centre with experienced advice and guidance assessors and internal verifiers.Ìý

We offer a flexible delivery model to combine technology with traditional assessment methods such as assignments, observations, and professional discussions, to continue to upskill and empower candidates.Ìý

Units included in the qualifications:Ìý

  • Develop interactions with advice and guidance clients.Ìý
  • Prepare clients through advice and guidance for the implementation of a course of action.Ìý
  • Operate within networks.Ìý
  • Enable advice and guidance clients to access referral opportunities.Ìý
  • Manage personal caseload.Ìý
  • Provide and maintain information materials for use in the service.Ìý
  • Liaise with other services.

L4 Career Information and Advice/L6 Career Guidance and Development/L6 Career Leader

As an accredited OCR Centre, we are delighted to offer the L4 and L6 Career Guidance and Development qualifications. This specialist training course is delivered by highly qualified expert staff, who support and guide learners throughout their qualification.Ìý

We use a blended delivery approach with the qualifications, combining technology, and traditional assessment methods such as assignments, observation, professional discussion and individual research tasks.Ìý

Units included in the qualifications:Ìý

  • Source, evaluate and use Labour market Intelligence (LMI) with clients.Ìý
  • Manage a personal caseload/work responsibilities in the career development sector.Ìý
  • Use digital technology in the career development sector.Ìý
  • Use the expertise of employers and organisations to deliver career development activities.Ìý
  • Career guidance and development theories and models.Ìý
  • Lead and manage career development work in an organisation.Ìý
  • Plan and design career-related learning programmes.Ìý

Gateway Qualifications Level 3 Award in Information, Advice or Guidance

As an accredited Gateway Centre, we are delighted to be able to deliver the Level 3 Award In Information, Advice or Guidance.

The qualification is delivered by a highly qualified and occupationally competent team of assessors and internal quality assurers, who support and guide learners throughout their qualification.

We use a blended delivery approach which combines technology with a range of assessment methods which include professional discussion, observation, written assignments, questioning and work product evidence.

This qualification aims to provide learners with the skills and knowledge for those in an advice and guidance role, to enhance their practice. Learners who work in a variety of roles such employability, mentoring, support staff, teachers, housing and pastoral support, would benefit from undertaking the qualification.

The qualification comprises of 2 units, Applying Interaction Skills for Information, Advice or Guidance, and Information, Advice or Guidance - Principles and Practice.
